OUR TEAM
Jeremiah Schuler
Executive Director
Jeremiah Schuler’s connection to Write253 began more than a decade ago while he was a student journalist at Tacoma Community College. Through the mentorship of Mary Fox and Allison Muir, he was invited to work with students at First Creek Middle School, where he and his brother launched a free after-school film club. That program grew into years of youth storytelling and filmmaking workshops across Tacoma.
Since then, Jeremiah has continued creating opportunities for young people and artists throughout the city, working across film, writing, education, and community arts. As a filmmaker and creative leader, he has managed teams and projects locally, nationally, and internationally, while remaining rooted in Tacoma and committed to creating more pathways into the arts.
As Executive Director, Jeremiah is focused on strengthening Write253’s connection to Tacoma, expanding creative opportunities for young people, and building spaces where youth can experiment, develop their voices, and see themselves as writers, artists, and storytellers.
For Jeremiah, stepping into this role is a full-circle moment. The people and programs connected to Write253 helped shape his own creative path, and he is committed to helping create those same opportunities for the next generation of Tacoma youth.
